Package Thief Caught

On the evening of March 26, the NOPD broadcast a call of a package thief from a porch in the 5300 block of Magazine Street. Hurstville patrol officers NOPD P/O Kyle Hendricks and P/P Officer Doug Black were patrolling at the time the call was broadcast. The description of the perpetrator was given as a black male in his 40s riding a grey bicycle. The Hurstville officers canvased the area for the wanted subject. They located a subject fitting the description in the 800 block of Octavia Street. The subject was riding a grey bicycle and had the package. The subject was detained. As the result of the officers investigation, it was determined that the detained subject was the same subject who stole the package from Magazine Street. The subject was placed under arrest. The Second District assisted with the arrest and transported the subject to the lockup. Due to the prompt response and vigilance of the Hurstville Officers, they were successful in apprehending the wanted subject. Carl Perilloux HSD Patrol Supervisor.
