Theft from 5400 Block of St. Charles

On Saturday, March 19th at about 8:30 a.m. the victim stated that he left his residence in the 5400 block of St. Charles Ave. He stated that when he returned at about 11:00 a.m. he observed an unknown black male in his 40’s going through a large box near the corner of his residence. The unknown subject asked the victim for a plastic bag. The subject told the victim that he was working next door and was helping to do some cleaning. The victim stated that he went inside to get a bag for subject, but as he returned his wife had already given him some bags. The victim observed the subject leaving the area on a greenish yellow bicycle. The victim stated that at about 2:30 p.m. he received a noticafition from FEDEX that at 9:30 a.m. that morning they had delivered a package to his residence and it was left on his front porch. The victim stated that he didn’t observed the package when he return home earlier and he realized that the large box the subject had the corner of Octavia and St. Charles Ave. was actually his package. The victim relocated to corner and found the box empty and it was addressed to him. The victim stated that it had contain a lamp valued at about $1000.00. Carl Perrillioux HSD Patrol Supervisor.
